DUNCAN - A well-known physiotherapist and soccer coach in the Cowichan Valley has been charged with sexual assault. A number of women have come forward to police accusing 51-year-old Campbell Crichton of assaulting them during physiotherapy treatments. So far Crichton is facing five counts, but police fear more victims could be out there. The accusations date back as far as the mid-1990's and all of the women say the assaults happened at Crichton's Duncan office. Crichton was not at the clinic when we visited. In fact the office was closed today. But police say the physiotherapist is still practicing - with restrictions. RCMP allege the sexual assaults all occurred in his physiotherapist clinic in downtown Duncan. Five women have complained to police that they were touched inappropriately by Crichton. They charged him with 5 counts of sexual assault. The first complaint was made to police in 1998. The College of Physical Therapists of BC is conducting their own investigation - during which they have imposed practice restrictions on Crichton. Police will not rule out if there are other victims in the community who have not yet come forward. But they are appealing to the public for any information on the case.
